Summary of Duties:
Parts Fabrication duties to support tank fabrication operations. Performs basic maintenance, and inspection of equipment. Requests supplies as needed. Keeps work area in clean and neat condition. Practices safe work habits, participates in required safety training and programs. Has good communication skills and ability to work with others.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Able to Mig weld. We use .035 wire with 75/25 NOS gas.
2. Able to use plasma and oxy-propane cutting torches.
3. Able to read blueprints, tape measure, protractor degrees.
4. Able to follow instructions and be self-motivated enough to work with little supervision.
5. Experience with operating Press Brakes, plate shear, iron worker.

EDUCATION:
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency; simple reading and arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers and reading decimals; work with simple charts, drawings, and measuring equipment.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least one year of successful continuous employment in a commercial or industrial setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate physical effort; requires standing on for entire shift; may lift up to 60 lbs. throughout the day; good eye and hand co-ordination; good visual acuity in order to perform most task; must be able to climb, stoop, and bend to get up and down from forklift truck and perform various outside activities throughout shop and yard.

1. JOB SUMMARY

Candidate should be highly experienced development of electrical/electronic specifications along with required HMI/PLC programming for new and existing equipment upgrades. Candidate should have a high electro-mechanical aptitude with desire and ability to work effectively as a team member in Engineering with a strong supporting role to the Maintenance Team. Candidate will be well versed in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment. Emphasis will be placed on HMI/PLC program development, interfacing between machine and business systems such as Mii and SAP for data collection, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, plant wiring, HMI/PLC troubleshooting, robot maintenance and programming, electronic component troubleshooting and repair, installation of components, reading and creating electrical wiring diagrams, teaching and mentoring Maintenance Associates and all phases of plant equipment troubleshooting.

2. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES -.

1. Apply engineering principles to analyze and plan for the requirements of assigned food processing and/or packaging projects and cost studies to achieve targeted objectives.

2. Prepare electrical engineering specifications for projects designated by the current Capital Plan to include development of HMI/PLC programs to support capital projects

3. Prepare project approval documentation for new products and systems, maintain required project documentation and monitor and control costs within assigned projects.

4. Lead assigned projects through concept, design, installation, commissioning and qualification to meet specified scope and identified project objectives.

5. Obtain and adopt all relevant requirements including environmental regulations, sanitary design, Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, code requirements and OSHA regulations on all work assignments.

6. Specify, obtain bids, select and purchase required equipment, parts and contract installation services for assigned projects to meet installation schedules and requirements.

7. Supervise work conducted by plant labor, contractors, and service personnel to assure efficient coordination and completion of assigned projects as scheduled.

8. Provide troubleshooting, problem analysis and technical support to all manufacturing and packaging facilities as required.

9. Administer the implementation of maintenance and operator training for all new equipment and systems installed on assigned projects.

10. Keep abreast of new technological developments through professional study and journals and initiate uses within the company.

11. Manage multiple projects of varying complexity and varying priorities simultaneously.

Knowledge

(B) Prior Work Experience

Minimum 10 years of hands on HMI/PLC program development. 5 years of project management experience in the design and installation of food processing and packaging systems.

Journeyman Millwright

Install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings.

Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation site, usually performing installation and maintenance work as part of team.

Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.

Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.

Adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.

Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.

Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drill.

Fabricate and dismantle parts, equipment, and machines using a cutting torch or other cutting equipment.

Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power tools.

Establish centerline, using straightedge, levels and transit (laser level).

Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.

Required Qualifications/Work Environment

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman Card Or Five (5) or more of related work experience as millwright/mechanical repairman maintenance craft experience in a heavy, industrial manufacturing environment is required
  • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals, and drawings as well as verbal and written descriptions.
  • Ability to interpret technical communications
  • Proficient with a voltage meter
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal and communication skills

3. Completes predictive/preventive maintenance assignments. Assists in installation of new equipment and machinery, working with Engineering and related personnel as needed. Keeps Maintenance shop and all work areas in neat and orderly manner.

Press Operator

Summary: Set-up and operate flexographic printing press to print designs and lettering on plastic films, paper, and other non-absorbent stock.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Strictly adhering to all safety rules and regulations as well as utilizing “common sense” safety precautions and actions.

• Strictly adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices

Set-up and operate flexographic printing press to print designs and lettering on plastic films, paper, and other non-absorbent stock.

• Obtain production order and determine material (films, inks, etc.) required for job.

• Determine ink standard lay down, color sequence, and correct deck for each color.

• Identify necessary package specifications (measurements, eyespot location, rewind figures, etc.).

• Assemble gears and collars in register onto cylinders and use chain hoist to load into print decks.

• Align cylinders in registration to bull gear.

• Load rolls of print film onto unwind and threads web through machine, taping end to rewind core.

• Assemble ink pumps, hoses and related equipment and fill ink reservoirs, ensuring proper viscosity.

• Start machine and sets inked impressions onto film, gauging and adjusting roll pressures to achieve proper image.

• Check first-run sample against customer approved ink standards, master sample, and written production order to ensure accuracy.

• Monitor ink viscosities while running and adjust as required.

• Make adjustments for proper machine control, including line speed, oven temperature, and web tension.

• Maintain close visual contact with web during run to detect potential defects such as poor registration, skip out, and squeezed print.

• Replenish film stock and removes printed film from rewind, assembling rolls onto pallets for transfer or storage.

• Remove, clean, and store cylinder sleeves and photopolymer plates.

• Remove and clean ink pans and related components and disassemble cylinders.

• Maintain inventory of print cylinders, plates, and related supplies. Accurately records material usage, waste, and other production information.

Performs preventive maintenance functions and performs minor repairs on printing presses and related equipment.

• Keeps work area(s) in neat and orderly condition.

• Makes recommendations and works with Maintenance personnel to ensure equipment is in safe, efficient operating condition.

• Ensures that all personnel have been effectively trained and certified in appropriate safety processes/procedures and that such processes/procedures are adhered to and utilized on the job.

• Visually audits in-process materials and analyzes data from reports to identify/evaluate problems that hinder or block attainment of quality and/or efficency objectives.

• Serves as resource to other personnel to resolve such issues.

• Is responsible for the handling of hanzardous waste on daily basis.

Performs other related work as required.
